Film Grant Application Reviews

What happens on the other side

Your application materials have the power to engage a reader and ultimately recruit an advocate for your project. While meeting the requirements of an application checklist, you have an opportunity to use each application element to connect with the team on the other side. You want to help them understand you and your project at first read.

A strong application takes more than proofreading and including extensive bios of the production team. Successful applications do not necessarily have the strongest current draft or edit (though that helps). They do have distinct, well-written materials that connect with each other and communicate the story and purpose of your work. There might be ten projects exploring the topic that your project focuses on, but only yours can represent your perspective and intention. How do you make that clear?

Work with me to craft your materials into a cohesive application package that pulls readers into the world of your story and gets them excited about your project. We will go beyond the story and develop the details of the what, why, and how of your project, regardless of production phase.

How it works:

  1. Send me the required materials
  2. I confirm that all materials have been received
  3. Payment is made
  4. I provide a turnaround date and we schedule our virtual meeting

“Your summary of the script (synopsis and treatment) gives voice to what I thematically struggle to express, in pretty much everything I do.”
